Dr. Wonderful forwarded me a note from the Chief of Psychiatry at her place with an email from the CoP at Emory with two names of ped psychiatrists I can call who will hopefully get us in quickly. If I am having trouble getting through I have a phone number of the CoP and the name of his assistant.
Some progress.
I still don’t know if they are on our HMO. Surely they are on it, right?
I still haven’t heard from Dr. Kind (local Quinn’s neph) and don’t yet have the names of ped psychiatrists from Gage’s therapist.
Incidentally, Gage told his therapist that he said that about the guillotine because he hates school and doesn’t want to go anymore.

I hope the progress continues. I’m thinking of you.
Sorry about the tougher than need to be times you are having. Where is that real life EASY button. Give Gage a big hug! You and your family are in my prayers….
Julia – if neither of these Docs are on your HMO, there are laws in place in which they CAN be approved by the HMO if they agree to the HMO fee structure for the services provided. I am not sure if they can do this on a case-by-case basis, but it is worth checking out, to be sure.
Check with the Insurance Commissioner for Georgia. They will have a liaison department which whould be able to assist you in getting the information, and hopefully even give you the contact name or division at the HMO to contact….
