If you are here by way of Quinn’s Dear Santa letter, welcome. If you want to know more about our story see the About Me page link to the right. If you have any questions about us, the effects Polycystic Kidney Disease has on our two cute kids, Gage and Quinn or The PKD Foundation (an organization we love and support fiercely) please leave a comment or email me.
If it wasn’t so late in the day, I would try to be witty! I’ll have to muster up some witty tomorrow.
And really, that Santa letter was all Quinn and came out of the blue.

I also have PKD I was diagagnosed 13 years ago, BUT I was forturate enough to be able to make lifestyle chanmges that have had a positive affect in that the transplant thast I was told was 5 to 10 years away, has been put off (I am now almost 70 years old) and at this age I am NOT going to have a transplant. Yhere are just too many other people like your children that need the very scarse organs more than I do.
I hope that your daughter gets her Christmas wish.

Today I was wallowing in self pity. I too have PKD and I’ve been suffering for around 15 years. I have days like today where I want something done……NOW! I just can’t stand it anymore. I’m tired of the “I’m sorry there is nothing we can do for you.” answers.
Then I came here. I saw 2 absolutely precious children with a loving mother and I wondered “would I rather be you…..or me?” It all gets put into perspective at times doesn’t it?
Knowing what your children are enduring, I just want to hug them and keep them safe right along with you. In the end, I’d rather be me.
Much love from Wisconsin!
Hello to all. Just wanted to send my prayers and wishes for a HEALTHY and happy new year for your family. My little boy also has PKD due to a birth defect with his ureathra. We go to Egleston twice a week for hemo. He’s too small for transplant yet, but we are growing and gaining slowly. Hope your little sweetheart gets her wish soon!
I’m a follow blogger too, but keep Matthew’s stuff primarily on his caringbridge site. Here’s my blog: http://relationactions.blogspot.com/
God bless!
