- Why doesn’t the kid clothing industry make big kids clothes with elastic? Not all kids (both of mine) can do buttons and snaps!
- Why does Gage insist on huge card board boxes in his closet while pulling everything that should be in there out?
- Why do people not follow through?
- Why am I nearly falling asleep at 4pm, but wide awake at 2am?
- Why does Quinn have food on all of her clothes at the end of each day? And how can it get on her back shoulder?
- Why does Julian want to talk about a stressful topic when I am walking out the door? It’s not like I don’t see him nearly 24 HOURS a DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK.
- Why don’t the kids hear a simple request, but they always hear something like, “Spongebob” or “M&Ms anyone?”
- Why don’t Southerners use their blinkers?
- Why can I remember what a brochure cost to print 15 years ago, but I can’t remember my friend Kathy’s cell phone number?
- Why won’t Vital Records in Georgia send me my nephew’s birth certificate that I ordered two weeks ago?
- Why when Gage has a great morning at home, he has a bad morning at school?
- Why when Gage has a bad morning at home, he has a good morning at school?
- Why does Gage want to drive me insane by eating 3 bites of food at meals?
- Why does the insurance company send me a rights statement with every single statement? Seems to me they could save a bunch of trees by sending just one with the first statement of the month.
- Why can I manage the complicated health care / mental health care of three young souls and not get myself to my gyno?
- Why can’t I keep my kitchen counter cleaned off more than an hour?
- Why do I love to do laundry, fold it but would rather have the clothes in the living room for a week instead of put them away in drawers?
- Why must Julian clear his throat every time he gets on a phone call — and I mean clear his throat AFTER the call has started and not BEFORE the call has started?
If any of you can answer any of these questions it’d be great. Maybe then I could get to sleep before 2am, because I am thinking some of these things are keeping me up.

Sweatpants aren’t the snazziest of clothing, but they’re elastic-waisted and come in lots of colors, like yellow and pink. ^^ And I have a pair of cargo pants, of all things, that have an elastic waist. (Granted, I bought them over ten years ago…) Gym-type clothes have a little more variety, but aren’t always elastic only.
For Quinn, could she wear dresses and stretch pants, leggings, or tights? They were pretty much ALL I wore at her age!
Why your son has a good morning at home and a bad morning at school…my son Garett is the same way. I guess it’s GOD’s way of keeping us appreciative for the good stuff… If it was all good we wouldn’t notice I guess. What’s your kids age difference girl? My son’s the oldest, fair skinned like yours. My daughters the youngest, tans like a champ, just like yours. Mine are little over 3years apart. Being a mom is the most challenging thing in the universe and know one can grasp that statement until you birth a child. Challenging but equally rewarding!!!!
Hey Julia! Thanks for the comment. Yes, Dr G was very understanding and lit a fire under this nurses hiney for me…even turning it around that he showed up to “browse” our charts from Monday and started questioning her in front me. Made him the bad guy instead of me being the hard to please parent. That was nice. Our “regular” nurse was back on Friday for hemo and all was good!
As for the question why does hubby ask you a question as you head out the door…mine does that too…it’s the Y-chromosome I think.
Good luck with figuring out the rest.
Karen
Marcia, the kids are just under 3 years apart. Yes…challenging. Karen, glad to hear things are better in the department.
Morgan, yes, we’re all about the leggings. But they are always catty-wompus from her pulling them up sideways.
Sideways? o_O
I checked at Target out of idle curiosity and found lots of snapless/buttonless pants, in both sections–boys’ cargo pants included–so at least you have options! (Besides very very expensive internet stores.)
It’s my belief that blinkers, or turn signals are options for teen drivers, men, and anyone over the age of 55. Of course, I’m north of the Mason/ Dixon line, they may not even install them on cars sold in the south. HA! I hear you sister!
